About the Author

I served as a professional firefighter and as a volunteer firefighter. I was a certified firefighter, certified rescue diver, and certified at haz-mat operations level. I served as a lieutenant, a captain and was on a Fire Investigation team. I was also very involved in the community and fire prevention. I wrote this book because there are no books for the children to read that tell them about the volunteer fire department and who we are.

This book has established and supports The Matthew Niesen Volunteer Firefighter Fund – To give back to the Volunteers. This is my new project that we will be putting together working with The Moab Valley Fire District and several others.
